Front Range K9 Academy, K9 Counselor, dog training and behavior services in Denver, Colorado
Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  Why shouldn’t I just go to a big-name pet store or breed club and pay about $200 for dog training?

A:  If you wanted a great steak dinner, would you go to a fast-food restaurant? Big pet store chains are all about QUANTITY, not QUALITY.   With
Front Range K-9 Academy, you’re paying for the very best in professional behavior modification and canine counseling.  You're not paying for
quantity-driven, large group dog training classes.

Q:  How much time will this take?

A:  We offer private problem-solving sessions that may only take 2 - 3 sessions, or 5 to 10 week semi-private group classes.

Q:  How much work do I have to do?

A:  That depends on you and your dog.  However, most owners find that if they work with their dog for at least 20 minutes, 2 times a day, they will see
results.

Remember:  The team consists of 3 players - you, your dog, and your trainer.  YOU control 2/3 of the team.

Q:  How long do sessions last?

A:  Sessions generally last from 45 to 90 minutes, with one hour being the average.

Q:  How often do we need to see the trainer?

A:  Weekly sessions will give you the fastest results, but in today’s world, we know schedules can be hectic, so we try to be as flexible as possible.

Q:  How much will this cost?

A:  While it's impossible to estimate cost until we meet your dog, we have services from $60  to $250/session.  Our goal is to find the service that
works for you and your individual needs.

Ask yourself this:  How much does a waste of time & money cost?  Amateur dog trainers usually charge around $100 per 6 week course.  They do
not offer specialized behavior modification methods.  Imagine paying good money and then your dog is more aggressive, destructive, obnoxious,
and disobedient than before.

Over 50% of the dogs we see each year have already been to large group training classes with an amateur dog trainer.

Another 30% of the dogs we see each year have been to other private trainers or board and trains, and in some cases have spent
thousands of dollars on methods that just don't work.

Training a few skills without a good foundation doesn't give reliable, predictable results!

Q:  What Methods of Behavior Modification do you use?

A:  We use a progressive training method - focusing on reliable, predictable results.  Our trainers are well versed in both traditional and positive
reinforcement methods.  Our on-staff behaviorist, Jennifer Hime, has used and honed our method over 30 years of experience, with over 8000 dogs.
The methods are proven.  The results are reliable.
